Imagine...
if you will
: Feeling secure, comfortable, nurtured and content as you float
serenely in a place of eternal accord. With
no worries nor fears, it feels as though you are in Heaven.
Although suddenly, agony replaces the ecstasy! A perpetrating substance covers your entire body as your skin
and flesh begin to burn endlessly. You
twitch nervously, uncontrollably, for the last time, only to have your body become an inhabitant
of the trash can and shipped to some earthen landfill, like common garbage. Your unreachable
goal was life; to live in this physical temple. While
it may seem a God-given right, there are those who would deny you this.
The heart that you once could hear beating as you sat in the silence of
your temple has been betrayed and forsaken.
At
the wondrous moment of conception, a sperm cell fuses with an egg cell,
conceiving a new life. Is this new
life merely tissue, a fleshly mortal body, or is there a predominant spiritual
presence? Those who favor the
legalization of abortion may think simply flesh and bones, mere uterine content.
Commonly referred to as pro choice, this proclivity claims that which
grows in a mother’s womb is simply bio-tissue.
Hence, they believe a woman has the complete right to choose to destroy
this tissue belonging to their bodies. Abortion,
they claim, will rid them of the responsibilities involved in raising a child,
as well as any social problems or personal predicaments.
Their claims, however, are proven scientifically and physically grossly
inaccurate. Scientific evidence
proves that
“at the moment of conception, a new human life is produced”
(Human Life Alliance of Minnesota Education Fund Inc. 3).
As
Mother Teresa of Calcutta said,
“It is a
poverty to decide that a child must die so that
you may live as you wish” (1994).
This
destruction of life is the ultimate copout; no different than the mass murdering
instigated during the Holocaust.
"But
I feel that the greatest destroyer of peace today is abortion, because it is a
war against the child, a direct killing of the innocent child, murder by the
mother herself. And if we accept that a mother can kill even her own child, how
can we tell other people not to kill one another?
By abortion, the mother does not learn to love, but kill even her own
child to solve her problems. And,
by abortion, the father is told that he does not have to take any responsibility
at all for the child he has brought into the world.
That father is likely to put other women into the same trouble.
So abortion just leads to more abortion."
Mother
Teresa (1994)
No matter the ‘pro abortionist’ explanation, the laying aside of human life is an abomination. Abortion destroys the life of a tiny human being, spreads its deadly effects upon society, and is no more justified than murdering any other human being.
Pro abortionists,
as well as the doctors performing abortions, often depict the process as a
routine operation to remove ‘fetal tissue’.
But in truth, as proved by scientific evidence, this ‘tissue’ feels
pain. At
the moment of conception, a new life is formed.
“At twenty-one days the heart of this life begins to beat” (Human
Life Alliance of Minnesota Education Fund Inc. 3).
Tissue alone, this is not!
An unborn fetus is as much a human being as an adult.
Well then, are we only tissues also?
In order to escape the charge of killing a human life, pro-abortionists
try to devalue the pre-born child to something less than a human being.
Using manipulation of language, they characterize an unborn human life
erroneously.
According to Dr. Nathanson, owner and doctor
of the first and largest abortion clinic, ultrasound technology now allows
doctors to witness the excruciating pain, which he calls the “silent
scream,” experienced by the unborn as they are put to death (Human Life
International Conference, Nathanson’s Testimony).
If what pro abortionists say is true, that what exists in a mother’s
womb is a mere tissue, how then is it possible to witness the extreme pain it
feels as it is put to death?
When aborted, a tissue would not experience such agony, nor would it
encounter pain as it is annihilated.
Technology proves to us that what grows in a mother’s womb is a new
human life, yet many people continue to argue against the validity of the truth.
“Well
it is my body and I have the right to choose what I want to do with it!”
This is the common belief of pro abortionists in an attempt to justify
their actions.
Yes, a woman should have the right to control her own body, but not
another individual’s body, which an unborn child surely is.
Can one body be of two blood types?
Absolutely not, as Dr. A. W. Liley, the father of fetology states:
“Biologically, at no stage can we subscribe to the view that the fetus is a
mere appendage of the mother.
Genetically, mother and baby are separate individuals from
Thus,
because a living person is contained within the womb of his or her mother, it
seems as though the mother is bound by honor, integrity, and all that is sacred
to carry this life to full term.
In choosing to have sex, a woman must realize the behavior’s
consequence. Of
course, they have the legal right to choose whether or not to take part in
sexual activity that could result in the conception of a child.
Although, following irresponsible behavior, a woman should not be able to
legally decide if she should give birth or have her child killed.
Once pregnant, a woman can best control and protect her body not by
taking the life of her baby, but rather by protecting her baby’s sanctuary.
Abortion
is commonly proposed as a solution to various personal and social dilemmas.
Most often, it is thought to be the easiest way of ridding one of an
unintended child and the stress coinciding with pregnancy. Although in many
cases, abortion merely postpones, confuses or obstructs the search for
solutions. Obtaining
an abortion will not solve one’s problems.
In fact, more often than not, it will create more problems for those
involved. Abortion
is a barbarous approach to problem solving and its effects are no less deadly
than its effects on the unborn child.
It
is far better to respond to personal and social predicaments constructively and
with compassion.
One such constructive and compassionate solution to the legalization of
abortion is adoption.
“An estimated yearly two million couples plus one
million single persons are waiting
Everyone
involved with abortion, the mothers, fathers, doctors and society as a whole,
experience its deadly effects.
Every individual becomes a victim of the crime.
Most women suffer from serious physiological traumatism and emotional
grief after an abortion.
“It is estimated yearly that 16,000 of these women are so severely
scarred by post abortion trauma that they become unable to function normally”
(Burkman 23). In
addition to this trauma,
“five percent of women having abortions after the
first three months experience genital tract infections” (Burkman 23).
Pelvic inflammatory disease results from such infections.
Not
only do women contract such diseases, conservative estimates indicate that
“16,000 women each year in the United States bleed enough, as a result of
having an abortion, to require transfusions” (Burkman 24).
Statistics show that
“sixteen of these women will die and 1,600 will
become seriously ill” (Burman 24).
Some of these women will never again be able to have children after an
abortion. “Twenty-five
percent of the women who terminate their first pregnancy have remained
permanently childless” (Burkman 24).
Is a right to choose or solve a personal situation worth such torment?
One would think this an irresponsible roll of the dice.
Despite
its serious effects
“Abortion today is legal in all nine months of pregnancy,
from the time of conception to the time of birth” (Life Literature
Distribution Committee 2).
Mother Teresa accurately states that abortion leads to more abortion.
Early term abortions have led to the latest profligacy, partial birth
abortions. Can
the partial birth abortion of a child fully formed, punctured at the cerebrum
and brains evacuated, be the humane dissolution of tissue, like unto a tumor?
Absolutely not, this procedure is an affront to everything for which this
nation stands.
Abortion
is without a doubt the murder of an innocent human being.
Something must be done to abolish America’s holocaust.
There is no middle ground and there is no compromise when it comes to
murdering innocent children.
Our only options are education and the enactment of a Constitutional
Amendment, which would protect the rights of the unborn.
"When a woman is in labor, she has pain, because her hour has come. But when her child is born, she no longer remembers the anguish because of the joy of having brought a human being into the world" (John 16: 21). If this is the physiological phenomena of child birth, then the preciousness of life should be so glorified. Can these words from the mouth of the Son of God indicate with what dignity and respect one's attitude should encompass life? What a horror, a trampling, the following is to this precious gift of life. ..
...Imagine
if you will: Feeling secure, comfortable, nurtured and content as you float
serenely in a place of eternal accord.
You have no worries or fears.
It feels as though you are in heaven.
Although, suddenly the plumber bursts!
A perpetrating substance covers your entire body as your skin and flesh
begin to burn endlessly.
You twitch nervously, uncontrollably, for the last time, only to become an inhabitant of
the trash can.
Your unreachable goal was life, to live, and while it may seem a
God-given right, it has been savagely stripped away.
The heart that you once could hear beating as you sat in the silence of
your temple has betrayed and forsaken you.
Some may say it is my choice and unfortunately many whole-heartedly agree.
The choice, however, is not in the murdering of an innocent child. Abstinence
or to have sexual relations is a choice; a precious child is a gift of
grace from the Heart of the Creator not a choice!
